CHARGING VAPE BATTERIES: HOW TO EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOURS

You come home after a long day of work and decide to use your vape. Or you would, but the battery is dead. You feel like you just charged it last night and you haven’t touched it yet today.

Like every piece of technology, there comes a time when your vape battery wears down. There are ways that you can extend the battery life. By taking special precautions when charging vape batteries and keeping them clean, you’ll be able to enjoy your e-cigarette for much longer periods of time.

Keep reading to find out more about what charging and cleaning techniques you can use to keep your batteries going.

1. Turn it Off
You wouldn't leave your television on when you aren't using it right? It would drain power and leave you with a much larger electric power bill then you would like. You should use this same mindset for your vape.

Even if you're not using your e-cigarette, if you leave it on, it's still draining power. So, if you're not using your vape, leave it off until you're ready to do so. This will stretch out the battery life.

2. Use it on a Regular Basis
Like with your cell phone and a lot of other electronics, you'll need to use your vape daily if you want the battery to stay at peek performance.

If you leave it sitting on a table for days on end, the battery will slowly start to diminish. Over time, you won't be able to use it at all anymore. All it takes is turning it on for a few minutes each day to avoid this scenario.

3. Don't Overcharge it
If you're like a lot of people, you plug in your electronics at night when you're sleeping to let them charge. It's a good tactic but not the best practice for batteries.

Many cellphones are equipped with a smart battery. Meaning, the battery will stop charging once it's done. Although most batteries and devices are equipped with this feature, it's always going to be better to charge it fully and then remove it.

This will wear on the battery and shorten its life over time. To save your battery, charge the vape while you're at home and then unplug it as soon as it's done.

4. Don't Drain the Batteries All the Way
If you let your batteries drain all the way, it will put a huge strain on them when you go to charge them. That's why you should plug yours in when it reaches the half waypoint.

It puts less strain on the battery and you won't have to wait as long to be able to use the vape again. It's a win-win for both you and the device.

5. Keep the Battery Clean
Whether you know it or not, vape batteries take a lot of punishment throughout the day. You throw them in your purse, stuff them in your pocket, and sometimes spill E-liquid on them. As you can imagine this gets them sort of dirty.

When you allow the battery to get too dirty the connection between it and your vape becomes weak. The battery will have to work 10 times harder to power the device. This puts a strain on it, to say the least.

So, when your battery is looking a little worse for wear, give it a good scrubbing. This will extend the life of the battery and the vape itself.

6. Storing Instructions
You wouldn't leave your cellphone in a hot car all day. You shouldn't leave your vape in there either. The extreme heat will do a number on your battery. Same for cold weather as well.

You should also store the vape in a dry area where it won't gather too much moisture. Make sure it's in a place where it can't be damaged from a drop as well.

One more pro tip with storage, charge the battery all the way before you put it away. The battery will drain slowly even while it's not being used. This means it will struggle harder to charge the next time you break it out to use it.

7. Rotate Your Batteries
If you've got an emergency back up battery that you carry around with you, use it instead. Again, the energy will deplete even if you just have it sitting in your pocket. By not using it, you're wearing it down.

So rotate your batteries often and give each one a turn to be used. This will extend the life of them both.

8. Remove the Cartomizer
Do you know how apps run in the background and drain your cellphone's battery even when you're not using it? The cartomizer works the same way. It completes the circuit in your vape and will drain your battery even if you just have it laying on the table.

If you know you won't be using the vape for a while, take the cartomizer out to preserve battery life.
