A vaping device like JUUL® is a reasonable investment so in this article, the expert explains how to take care of this critical component of your vaping setup.
Cigarettes have a multitude of problems, but ease of access certainly isn’t one of them. If you happen to drop a pack of cigarettes in the pool-or your lighter stops working – it’s easy enough to run down the road for a replacement. A vaping device like the JUUL®, on the other hand, is a bit more of an investment. The device and its associated components aren’t cheap – and if something stops working, you can’t just get a replacement from the corner store. That’s what gives single points of failure – like the JUUL® charger – the potential to cause you an enormous inconvenience.
Your JUUL®charger is an absolutely critical component of your vaping setup. If it stops working, you can’t charge your device –and if you can’t charge your device, you can’t vape. For that reason, we stronglyrecommend owning a backup JUUL®device and charger. That way, you always have an extra battery and charger available. In the meantime, though, you’ve got to take care of the charger you have – and that’s what you’re going to learn from reading this article.
Note that although this article specifically discusses how to clean and maintain the JUUL®charger, the instructions given here apply to virtually any vape charger on the market. Every vape charging dock works essentially the same as the JUUL®charger.
How to Clean a JUUL®Charger
To clean your JUUL®charger, start by disconnecting it from your computer. Cleaning the charger may involve using liquid, so you don’t want to do it while the charger is connected to a power source.

Start by cleaning the charger’s USB plug and spring-loaded pins with a toothpick. Scrape gently to remove dust, pocket lint and othercontaminants. In most cases, this is all you need to do to clean the JUUL® charger; you simply want to make sure that the pins make a good connection to the charging plates on the bottom of the JUUL® device.
If your JUUL® charger is seriously dirty with e-liquid or other sticky residue, you can clean it with a cotton swab moistened slightly with rubbing alcohol. Don’t moisten the swab until it’s dripping, because the liquid can get under the charger’s spring-loaded pins, potentially ruining the charger. Dampen the cotton swab only slightly and rub it on the residue until the charger is clean. Give the charger time to dry completely before using it again.
How to Clean the JUUL® Charging Plates
Remember that the JUUL® charger can only make a good electrical connection with the charging plates on the bottom of your device if the plates themselves are also clean. Since you probably go almost everywhere with your JUUL®, the bottom of the device is likely to collect dust, pocket lint and other contaminants over time. The easiest way to clean the JUUL®’s charging plates is with a toothpick. Insert the toothpick into each charging hole and scrape gently to remove the contaminants. If you’re short on time, though, we have a few bits of advice that you may find helpful.
·Always have a backup device and charger available if possible. Having the ability to try a different charger and device makes it easy to pinpoint the item that’s causing the problem. If one battery charges successfully and the other doesn’t, for instance, you know that the problem is with the device rather than the charger.
·Make sure that your JUUL® charger is connected to your computer and not to a wall charger for a mobile phone or tablet. Like all vaping devices, the JUUL is not designed to work with a quick-charge current. Connecting your JUUL® battery to a tablet or phone charger may cause it to overheat or simply not charge at all.
·Has e-liquid leaked into your JUUL® device? Try placing your mouth over the bottom of the device and blowing firmly to push the e-liquid out through the spring-loaded pins at the top of the device. Have some cotton swabs handy for absorbing the e-liquid. If the device still doesn’t work, try sealing it in a bag with some dry rice or silica gel packets for a day. If your device still isn’t charging, you may be able to fix it by disassembling the JUUL® for a deep cleaning.
