How Does it Compare to the Others in the Platform Series?
Innokin has for many years now produced tons of sleek pocket-friendly devices that are tailor-made for beginners because they are low-powered and offer a discreet amount of vapour to match the clouds made by cigarettes.
Their ‘platform series’ pod kits are essentially like-for-like swaps that provide a simple transition into vaping from smoking. Not requiring much maintenance or knowledge of vaping, Innokin knows how to keep the fuss to a minimum.
With the Z Pod Nano itself, in comparison to other more recent devices from the series, such as the Klypse series or the innovative Innokin Trine device with a removable battery, the power has an equally low level, and yet the stylish design remains.
Why the Innokin Z Pod Nano Stands Out
The major plus point of the Z Pod Nano is the form factor. It must be one of the smallest devices available in the industry today. You could even fit a couple of them in your hand and still have space to spare!
With simplicity in mind, they haven't over-complicated the design, with six interesting colours to pick from, including ice blue, pink, light yellow and red.
There is a small OLED display on the front and the pod e-liquid level is easy to see. Because it can fit in any pocket with ease, has low power and still fits a 700mAh battery capacity (which is impressive for the size of the device), it’s the ideal starter kit for vaping on the move.
How to Use the Z Pod Nano Pod Vape Kit: Simple Setup Guide
1.Three clicks to turn the device on and off.
2.Remove the sticker from the preinstalled pod (which is added for safety reasons to prevent the device from firing in the box.
3.To charge the device, use the port at the base of the device.
4.To fill the pod, open the bung on the side of the pod, which is big enough to add any e-liquid bottle dropper.
5.Allow to sit when filling for the first time for five minutes to saturate the coil.
6.The device is auto-draw only, so inhale on the mouthpiece to activate it.
7.To adjust the wattage, first click the control button twice to start adjusting the wattage. The screen display will flash and then you hold the button once again and it will start adjusting between 6-15W in 0.5 W increments. Release when you reach your preferred output.
8.Alternate between a tighter and slightly looser mouth-to-lung draw by flicking the switch located at the bottom of the pod. The tighter draw is when the switch is pushed towards the battery contacts.
As an additional note, the mouthpiece is fixed on the pod and the coils are also fixed so when the coil life ends (roughly a couple of weeks depending on use, simply switch for another 0.8, 1.0 or 1.2 MTL pod).
How Does it Vape?
It’s your quintessential MTL vape which will appeal to those who are used to disposables or seeking something easy to use after switching from smoking. At a low price with two pods that come with the kit, the high resistances produce a small amount of vapour, which is perfect when you want to be discreet!
The mouthpiece is even shaped like the filter at the top of a cigarette and replicates the inhalation method of smoking.
With an adjustable airflow switch at the bottom of the pod, it’s an easy set-up device but requires removing the pod to alter (which could be a little more useful).
It works very well with a high Propylene Glycol (PG) vape juice but is too low in wattage to combine with a higher Vegetable Glycerine (VG) e-liquid, due to the nature of this type of vape juice, which tends to be thicker and more likely to burn through a high resistance coil without the power to match. For an Innokin product with more power, check out the Innokin Gozee which fires up to 60W.
Appearance and Build Quality Overview
The Z Pod Nano is certainly the most pocket-friendly device we have seen in 2024 so far! With lots of colour choices, the half-and-half colour scheme is cool (different colours top half and black or white bottom half).
With a smooth texture in the hand with nice, curved edges, and because there are no settings to adjust and a small screen, it doesn’t look overbearing or too flashy.
It’s also lightweight, which you would expect considering the size. The similarity with a single-use disposable is uncanny!
What are the Advantages of the Innokin Z Pod Nano?
·Fits like a glove in the hand, and is very compact to hide discreetly
·Easy adjustable airflow
·Simple layout and design, with a clear screen and clear pods
·Minimal fuss device that’s lightweight with a big battery for the size
·Old-school tight and loose mouth to lung pods
Are There Any Disadvantages with This Tiny Pod Kit?
·The coils are fixed, which is a shame for those who want to save a bit of money by reusing the pod
·700mAh battery should last the day but may need recharging depending on the use
Verdict
The Innokin Z Pod Nano vape kit is a starter kit like no other with a tiny compact shape. For some, it may even be too small to hold, especially if you have larger hands. With a lower wattage and only high resistance coils, it ticks the boxes for mouth-to-lung vapers. However, it’s not the most versatile choice for those who like to dabble in direct lung or restrictive direct lung vaping too.
For its stylish minimalistic design, small form factor and efficiency, you can’t go wrong with the Z Pod Nano. We highly recommend this kit for beginners in particular but even those who want a simple pod kit while out and about!
