The Irish vape advocacy group Respect Vapers are calling all vapers to take part in a survey.
Minister Ossian Smyth TD and the Department of the Environment, are inviting the public to complete a survey about disposable vapes and recycling in Ireland.
It outlines three options on how Ireland can address environmental concerns with disposable vapes:
·Ban vapes –Respect Vapers believes that banning disposables will not solve the problem and will only drive the public to buy vapes from unregulated sources.
·Deposit and return scheme – Vapers will pay a deposit when you buy a disposable vape, which you get back when you return the used product.
·Improving the existing producer responsibility scheme and consumer awareness – Vape producers will be required, by law, to be environmentally responsible in recycling used vapes and educating vapers to properly dispose them.
