Following on from the news that the UK Government is launching a public consultation on smoking & vaping, we now have an Ireland Vaping Consultation on the way.
According to an email from the advocacy group “Respect Vapers” – there will be a public consultation starting on 7th November 2023.
This was announced by the Minister for Health on 12th October 2023 where the Government and the members of the Oireachtas Health Committee met for a hearing.
The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly is not a fan of vapes and has made it quite clear he wants to “come down like a tonne of bricks” on vape flavours and packaging.
This has been simmering away for a while with many Irish politicians calling for a ban on single use (disposable) vapes.
A new bill – “Public Health (Tobacco Products and Nicotine Inhaling Products) Bill” is in production hence the public consultation. We wrote about this in our article in September – “Ireland Disposable Vape Ban Is Likely“.
Respect Vapers say…
“It is vitally important that Ireland’s 200,000 vapers respond to this consultation and tell the Government how flavoured vapes have helped them.
We will need your help during this consultation programme to make sure the Minister gets our message.”
When the Ireland Vaping Consultation has been launched please get involved and tell your story.
You can find out more on the Respect Vapers website, plus we will update you when the consultation is live.
